Of the 251 million tons of trash produced in the United States only 82 million tons make it to recycling centers. The remaining 169 tons of waste is burned or removed to land fills. While improvements have been made over the past few decades in recycling, only 32.5% of waste is reprocessed. The benefits of recycling are obvious. Often it is a simple issue of awareness that holds us back from utilizing recycling resources to their fullest capacity. Awareness is essential to making a change.
Choose to Reuse was created to advocate recycling and keep the community updated on recent recycling news. My hope is to encourage readers to consider practical options in recycling.
