Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day: April 10, 2010
There will be a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day sponsored by Utah County. It will be held Saturday, April 10th, 9 a.m. – 3 pm., at the northwest parking area of Utah Valley University (about 1200 West 800 South in Orem).

Earth Day Activities: April 22, 2010
- Earth Day Network is offering a variety of ways to get involved with the Fortieth Anniversary of Earth Day. Motorola’s ‘Race to Recycle’ Program for Schools: Ongoing
Motorola is offering a fund-raising opportunity for schools. Schools sign up online at http://www.racetorecycle.com/schoolsearch.asp. Using prepaid labels school collect and send in used phones. The money collected from the phones is then distributed to the school. Individuals can also print labels off or begin collections in their community. The money raised from community collections is distributed among participating schools.
Habitat for Humanity: Ongoing
Volunteer to go door to door and collect cans for Utah County’s Habitat for Humanity. The cans are taken to Western Metals Recycling at 685 S Freedom Blvd. The proceeds go directly to building homes in Utah County. See http://www.habitatuc.org/cansforhabitat.html for more details.
Donate Cell Phones to ReCellular for relief in Haiti: Ongoing
On January 12, 2010 a catastrophic earthquake occurred in Haiti. Help relief supports in Haiti by donating your phone to ReCellular. The phone is cleaned and the data is cleared to be resold.
